In this week’s chapter of Bleach, as Gerard demolished Shinji, Momo, Byakuya, Renji, and Rukia, Ichigo’s group continues to battle Askin Naak Le Vaar. This is my spoilerific review of Chapter 656, “God of Thunder”. Man, Kubo must be really excited to see the new Thor movie.

Where we left off, Gerard became a giant and squashed his enemies

And Askin noticed Gerard has grew and noticed that Lille had been “defeated”

Found out that Lille is the leader of the Schutzstaffel, but after Lille is out of the ring, Gerard and Pernida is the only two left in the Schutzstaffel. Well...looks like Gerard is the only one left since...yeah, Pernida’s dead.

Also found out that Gerard is the Soul King’s Heart and...

Ichigo got defeated off panel...Kubo, what the hell!?

Chad and Orihime arrives and tried to attack, but Ichigo warned them to stay back

Oh...YOU IDIOT!!!

Yeah...Chad and Orihime got affected by Askin’s Death Dealing

Poison by Reishi? Well, now we know what happened during his with Nimaiya

SURPRISE, MOTHERFUCKER

Yeah...Yoruichi heard the whole thing. Also, “Bambi”...yeah, Askin refers to Bambietta

Feeling electric tonight

And Askin is about to fire his Quincy Arrows

However, Yoruichi deflected, dodged, and caught the arrows

Yoruichi is ready to finish Askin off

And Yoruichi releases “Shunko: Raijin Senkei”, or God of Thunder’s War Form

Talk about thundershock

And then it’s over!

Reaction/Thoughts: So what do I think about this week’s chapter of Bleach? This chapter, holy shit, where do I begin? Oh yeah, Gerard. I thought we’re going to continue with Gerard, but it looked like we’re not. I was hoping one or two of the group tried to take him on, hell, was hoping for certain characters that wasn’t been seen in like forever. So it look like that’s going to have to wait. This chapter revolves around Ichigo’s group and I am pretty disappointed with Kubo. He made Askin defeat Ichigo off panel! What the actual H, Kubo!? What the actual H!? Of course, Orihime and Chad also got defeated. Another anime logic, characters not paying attention to dire warnings. But of course, we finally get to see Yoruichi to do some action against Askin, finally got to see the queen in action. And her ultimate attack at the end of the chapter...wow. That should finish him off. But the question here, is this the end for Askin? Did we not learn from his fight with Nimaiya, it’s going to end. We know what he’s capable of, so we know Askin will still be alive in this fight as the final chapter of the year 2015 rolls in. All and all, I think this chapter is a pretty good one with some surprising moments mixed into one chapter. I give Chapter 656...
