Blasting technique#
When it comes to architecture, most people think only about building. However, for cities with large numbers of infrastructure already completed, it is also necessary to destroy existing buildings before building new ones. In this post, I would like to introduce the method of blasting.
You've seen the news of the world breaking down and demolishing 10 stories or skyscrapers in a matter of seconds. The method of demolishing and demolishing buildings in such a short time is called blasting. There are different ways to apply the bomb method to different characteristics of a building: a single-storied collapse technique, a one-way collapse method, and a variety of ways to bring a building down from the outside.
There are various methods, but the principles of blasting technique are the same. It's a way of destroying structures like columns, beams, and walls that support the building with explosives that cause the building to collapse, rather than demolish it with explosives. As the building collapses in an instant, it needs to be calculated and prepared to avoid damaging the surrounding buildings and people. It takes a few seconds to collapse, but the preparation period is over a month.
In Korea, a large-scale old building in Gae-dong, Incheon, was dismantled by a blast in July 2012. Rather than tearing down each building and destroying it one by one, it's also a way to minimize the cost of demolition. It is going to be useful for demolishing buildings in projects like redevelopment.
Thank you for reading.
