#blast me

Okay so I have a fun game idea

Basically you take clothing images you have on your phone and anyone and everyone is allowed to either blast you, state their opinion based on the clothes you put up, guess/assign your kins to you, or just guess something about you based on the clothes you show.

Just to get this things rolling:

For all intents and purposes, I’ve learned this is not ok for multiple reasons:

White hair doesn’t dread naturally and to let it get so matted to the point where it does is unsanitary.

It turns a traditional practice among African American communities into another “quirky and exotic ~~” trend for white people to exploit and bastardize and profit from.

not to mention, white dominated culture has stigmatized the natural hair styles of the African American culture and has an ugly tendency to condemn black people for wearing such styles.

 But even still, especially in the witch community I see many people condoning it under the circumstance that many ancient non poc cultures used them as well? and i just don’t know if that’s accurate. i.e. yes dreads are depicted in ancient greek sculpture and art but (at least by my research) are only seen on figures resembling poc.

but here’s the thing: I am a child. I have no legitimate “research” skills to begin with. I have no degree. I’m not even planning on studying anthropology or the likes even when I do get to college. Maybe I’m just pulling all this shit out of my back-end because I’m so involved with people who have this belief that white people dreading their hair is appropriative and I want to make it clear I’m on the same page.

and now here i am, generally sure that white people with dreads is a gross show of cultural appropriation, thrown into “What if I’m just a judgemental asshat with no independent thought???”
