I've spent many an afternoon wandering the conservation area that is Blair Plain. No matter how many times I'm in that area, I find myself fascinated by the rich details of many of the beautifully restored shophouses. Today I was visiting @artporters to check out the Lavender Chang exhibition "Floating Rays of a Wanderer" and a sneek peek into "Le Secret Sacré" by Guillaume Levy-Lambert opening tomorrow. Guillaume Levy-Lambert pointed out the beautiful original frescos, decorative works that had been covered under decades of paint and plaster. Next door to the gallery, he showed me a @urasingapore signboard showing what the shophouse looked like before major restoration. I didn't have much time and didn't walk around but of course I couldn't resist just snapping whatever caught my eye - beautiful doors and windows, Chinese words above windows, an Architectural Heritage Award winning shophouse that I always admire when I walk past. Conincidetally I sighted a shophouse with what looked like a murul and wonder about it but I had to run off - then I saw it tonight on URA's IG! #Singapore #blairplainconservationarea #shophouse #SgHeritage #URASG #SgHeritageConservation #sghistory #door #window #doorsofinstagram #doorsandwindows #VisitSingapore #things2doinsingapore #sgmemory #PassionMadePossible #lovinsingapore #SingaporeInsiders #wonderlustsingapore #whatissingapore (at Spottiswoode Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7GoId7HE3Z/?igshid=121bh5a7kxboe
