@blackjackfalcon for sure. Kef and Setzer have a great bromance, but Kef knows the company that Setzy keeps and wouldn’t hesitate to make him extra crispy if it came to it.

Materialism isn’t among Kuja’s skillset. He struggles with assigning value to objects outside of their immediately usefulness; as a result, he’s very bad at giving people gifts - he’s more likely to give something practical than something sentimental that has emotional value. It can, however, be argued that if he gives someone a gift at all - if he cares about them enough to give them something unasked that isn’t strictly necessary for safety or survival reasons - it truly is the thought that counts. He does not give gifts often, nor to just anyone.

Kuja is wreathed in layers of protective wards and barriers, none of which he is aware of (but mages can occasionally sense them). Even Neirin, who originally cast them, was unaware of them - he subconsciously traced the sigils for them on Kuja while they were cuddling. These wards contribute to his surprising sturdiness; he’s very hard to hurt.

It’s ok, Setzer. Fran can’t handle it either in Pacific Rim.
