This was nominated for an Academy Award in March, let us fill you in on exactly what was done here. It truly boggles the mind. - Brain child of Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, Loving Vincent is world’s first full feature film with each frame being a separate hand made oil painting! - 94 original Van Gogh paintings were reimagined into 66,960 frames of original oil paintings to create this film! To put in perspective, these paintings laid flat at the size they were painted would cover all of London and Manhattan combined completely. This incredible and painstaking process involved first filming the entire movie with live actors. This footage was then combined with #CGI to help create a reference for the Van Gogh world these characters were in.
