Hey there. First I just want to say that I think this blog is fantastic and I'm really, really glad it exists. But anyways, I'm a Black person from the USA and I've been wanting to get a tattoo of an arm/hand with an eye in the center of the palm, similar to the Khamsa symbol but the aesthetic would be more like a "portrait" of a hand/eye if that makes sense. I've been avoiding getting this for several years because I've assumed it's appropriative, am I right in assuming so? Thanks!
I’d call it appropriative if you were ignorant to the meaning, origin and symbolism of it and were getting it purely for aesthetic purposes, yes.
