☼this is so niche guys☽
I think the artstyle change in Alucard's design in Castlevania to Castlevania: Nocturne is deliberate.
It honestly feels like him in Nocturne is "Alucard, son of Dracula Tepes" and the other is "Adrien, son of Lisa Tepes"
I know you see it.
Ya boy is 34 today!!!

I nearly cried yesterday, finding out SAWTOWNE was Black. Rotten Girl has been my favorite Miku song for a very, very long while now. And to find out they're a Black nerd like me, getting world famous with their music and their own beautiful creations their own way, making how they wanna make and how they wanna keep making their music is genuinely something really heavy for me. I don't know why it took this long or why it's this in particular, but seeing the people who influenced my music and art tastes so much some out and say all these things and seeing SAWTOWNE say this, I really do feel like I do truly have an unapologetic space. I really am safe to like what I want to like and still have a place to be accepted, and that makes me almost cry to see. SAWTOWNE will never see this, but this means so much deeply to me. I genuinely thank them for saying what they have said.
I’m sorry I haven’t posted about this sooner amidst all the content I have lined up for my socials, but as someone who is very vocal about anime, fandom, and cosplay, I wanted to send my sincere condolences to Ash (@squidkid1111).
Being a Black nerd is both a wonderful and difficult thing to be. On one hand, you find so much community and friendship among people who like the same things as you, but on the other hand, it can be a bit isolating at times.
Some Black folks tend to think you’re not “Black enough” because you enjoy things that are “outside” of Black culture, and by larger proportion, many White folks very obviously are loud and proud with their racism within fandom and nerd spaces.
It breaks my heart that in an environment that is supposed to be accepting an welcoming, this young cosplayer has been relentlessly bullied by racists to the point of no longer wanting to be here…
Let’s be very clear:
If you are a racist, misogynist, or discriminatory bigot of any kind, you DO NOT belong in nerd culture.
This is a community based around enjoying FICTIONAL characters and Black people have every right to participate in anime/cosplay just as much as anyone else.
“But that character isn’t Black!” We’ll they’re not White either, they’re Japanese. By that logic, you can’t cosplay them either. 🙃🥴
Y’all are quick to criticize a Black person in a harmless costume but have no problem defending blackface or stereotyped cultural wear. Be so fr. 🙄🤦🏽♀️
Whoever said “words can never hurt me” was very dishonest. I hope that everyone takes the time to reflect on how their actions can undeniably impact others and realize the true meaning behind the phrase “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21).
Your words can either bring life to people or tear them down.
I’m so sorry there were not enough people sticking up for you, Ash. 💔 May you rest in peace and I send sincere condolences to all of Ash’s family & friends.
To all the weird and nerdy Black girls out there, you are beautiful, you matter, you’re valid, and most importantly, you are not alone. ❤️🩹🫂
The whole thing with Slayr rapping over BirdBrain really just hammered the fact in my head that the most racist and bigoted person you know is probably someone who claims to be a leftist or "woke". Hell, they're probably apart of some other minority group, like the lgbtq community, so you'd genuinely never expect it.
But the fact is, no matter where black people go, #thosepeople will always find a way to hate us for no good reason. Whether that's to our faces, or through some backhanded compliment like "finally, actual good yn rap!"
I hate Vocaloid fans because they hated us first. I hate alnst fans because they hated us first. I hate Kpop fans because they hated us first. I hate anime fans because they hated us first.
I love being a black geek, you can never make me hate that.
