Black repulsed (aro)ace culture is slowly becoming uncomfortable as you get older and listen to a lot of the music that you grew up around and are favorites/played at every event where explicit music is allowed. But you kept these feelings to yourself because you didn’t want to get called yt for saying you didn’t want to listen to the more sexual rap because you don’t like it. Until one day, a Black YouTuber finally put the feeling into words while explaining why people like Ceechynaa. It’s because a lot of it has very much sexual assault and rape vibes to it (or they are very clearly established in the song) which is uncomfortable to listen to versus songs like Peggy that feel more consensual and thus more fun and enjoyable to listen to
There’s also the added layer of gender but I won’t get into that since that’s not what this blog is about
No no, I feel like misogynoir does play a heavy role in the black side of the music industry and how it handles music.. I've seen a video talking about it and how some of the most famous songs tend to have that problem. It's sad too because rap is a wonderful genre, some black men just don't know how the hell to not be creepy. I guess that can go for most of the industry though.
I could go on and on about the topic of the music industry and just how vile a lot of people (black and non-black) are but THIS IS BLACK AROACE CULTURE BABYYYYY !!!!!
