Bellamy and Clarke have been best friends for years. Many of their friends call them out on their relationship, including Bellamy’s sister Octavia.
But Clarke and Bellamy always have more pressing things to deal with than their friendship, love or whatever they share: school, a snowstorm, a pandemic taking over the world, even the end of the world itself one day, maybe (?!). In fact they don’t really want to question what they share: it’s obvious, simple and cosy.
But one New Year’s Eve, while they are celebrating the change of year, Bellamy suddenly finds himself kissing Clarke a little more fiercely than as a simple “friend”. And Clarke responds to this kiss a little too happily to not be sincere.
And the next day, the two are decided: not only is a new year starting, but it’s also a new life. They move in together, and even get a little dog.
Forget the others for whom they have always sacrificed themselves.
Forget the imperatives and the urgencies. January is the first month of the rest of life.
And the reality is that life is too short not to be shared.
