For this project I used inspiration from Pop Art and used a selfie of myself then in illustrator I redrew my self. I then selected my skin and added a bit mad to the illustration, as well as added a star in the background and used vibrant colors to help pop out at you.

The past acts as the foundation of which future forms of technology will derive from. With that being said, Poster is correct in saying that the relationship between the past and future is what fuels the creative process. As technology continues to be crafted and produced, Poster clearly states his opinion on what needs to be done, “We need a new language to describe the new medium of interface, but that doesn’t mean we can’t borrow some of our terminology from the forms that have come before it.” The culture of technology is well aware that it will only continue to flourish if advances are made on past objects, such as the concept of a computer. For example, from a traditional PC came a laptop. Terminology was taken from an existing product and applied to a new form of technology, in order to correspond with the changing times. Just like any culture, there are staple customs, or terminology in this particular case, and are enhanced over time. The computer culture is a particularly strong one because it is constantly building upon itself. As described within Poster’s text, novelists were once used to communicate what was going on during the industrial age; however, now interface is used as a communication tool. Building upon old customs, the novelists, made it inevitable to form what is now being used, interface. This is a prime example of how with the changing of decades comes a need to reflect on the past. Technology could not advance without continually expanding initial ideas.

As a future educator growing up in a time where technology is constantly developing, old teaching tools are becoming more and more advanced. Chalkboards were once used to act as a communicator between students and the work, now students are asked to use tools such as MyMathLab. Systems such as MyMathLab provide a space in which students can do their homework and immediately get a final grade. This program also acts as a sort of tutor; it includes video tutorials, as well as step-by-step problem solving. Technology such as this makes it easier for the educator in the sense that students are able to get extra help, in addition to not having to grade the work on their own time. For students, MyMathLab can be beneficial due to its availability and swift responses. There are many systems such as MyMathLab for the multiple subjects studied in schools. As time progresses, more accessible and improved tools will replace the systems educators now rely on.
