how...did...I... ever... draw... on...these...

so, recently, I’ve been sending postcards from home instead of while traveling. which has meant I could deliberately buy postcards suiting to drawing. When you’re traveling, you’re stuck with whatever’s at the shop but it’s okay because part of the FUN is that it’s something written and sent ON THE GO. But these magazine-style glossy cards are really only suited to sharpies and don’t allow do-overs because pencil can’t be erased from them. 

ugh

I remember now why I was into doing little autobio comics and diagrams of geology facts -- because drawing something meant to show off any kind of technical skill was REEEEALLLY DIFFICULT especially when I am not actually that technically skilled

this may be the end of my interest in postcarding while traveling. now that I’ve been scanning art drawn on actual art paper and cleaning it up, it makes my skin crawl a little to post cell phone photos of sloppily drawn stuff on smeary postcards. drawing is a hobby, i don’t have any training, and ANY added difficulty makes my the limits of my ability pretty clear. in other words, I feel like I pushed the bar a little higher by posting nice scans of M-W postcards, and I feel kind of gross thinking of bringing it back down while people are watching. like, for reals, I already think you all are super weird for wanting to get one of these postcards, and I assume people are remembering the best one they’ve seen and expecting to get that, *wince*  but the biggest sign of being amateur is lack of consistency. SOME of them will be great?! but, like, nottttt mosssttt of theeeem 

anyway. I will draw pictures for the people who asked but the art won’t be coming from australia and it’s not going to be on australia postcards either.

like someone tagged this picture i drew with something like “it says tea but i don’t see any tea, they’re drinking coffee”

and I’m just staring at these tags like

1. why is this what you had the energy to tag about so i could see it

2. you know coffee and tea come in the same to-go cups, right. they don’t have different tea to-go cups, they just use the same ones, the only way to tell what’s in it is if the comic told you, like, because tea is in the title. aka newsflash he is drinking tea

3. why??? are you nitpicking something so irrelevant?? that isn’t even an error??? it’s not even worth replying to correct you??

So TurboTax is like $34.99!! is the cost to file!!! Without re-entering all of your information since the dawn of time!!!

And then it says, how would you like to pay? Credit Card? Or with your refund?

It says $34.99 next to paying with your refund, which ok, that’s the same price it was before. And it’s not until you are about to click SEND/PAY/DONE that you realize your total filing fee in the list of all the other info has jumped to 69.98

Paying with your refund costs an extra fee that Turbo Tax has made exactly the same as the cost of filing so that maybe you JUST WON’T NOTICE.
