#Birth is mysterious, unpredictable, #powerful, painful, beautiful and life-changing. The #transformation that occurs is inexplicable. The only way to truly understand is to #experience. #BalancingBirth in today's world is not always an easy feat. Finding a strong + supportive #birthTEAM, getting all of the information you feel you need, reading the right books, reviewing the right websites... Is there anyone out there who can relate to the feeling of being totally lost when they found out they were pregnant? What can I eat? Where do I find maternity clothes? Can I swim? Have sex? When do I get my ultrasound? Should I get an ultrasound? What about sleeping? Morning sickness? Vitamins? Then you start to hear about things like delayed cord clamping and Vitamin K. Eye ointment and vaccines. Diapering and breastfeeding. It hits you like a brick wall that you aren't going to be pregnant forever. But -- no one has really talked to you about your labor options, or what to do once the baby is here. IV, continuous monitoring, using the shower, or whether or not you're allowed to play your favorite music or use your favorite oils. Let's come together to talk about the things that matter. Let's #normalizeBIRTH and the discussions around it. Let's share our stories and learn from one another. Let's remember that we are powerful beings, not sick patients.
