Hi Hello, I saw your post about Robins and i couldn't stop myself.
Here's my favourite bird, the Eurasian Jay.
Whenever I see one i wave and say 'Hi grandpa' because i've started seeing these birds closer to me ever since the day my grandpa (who loved birds) passed away. There are days where I see like 20 of them throughout the day (yes i counted once)
----
Another favourite of mine is the Appelvink, yeah i know.. that's not the english name but google was making me confused so have the dutch name.
I don't rememember much of all my schools but this is a memory I do remember. We had lessons about nature and they showed us this bird with the music they make and i fell in love right away.. I think they where my first hyperfixation. Sadly i've never seen one in real time :(
okii bye, sorry about this!
first of all please dont be sorry!! i love birds so much!! this made me really happy hdhhdhf.
secondly, EURASIAN JAYS!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THOSE GUYS SO MUCH GHJEJFJSJ we have quite a few of them around where i live and i see them from time to time (i hear them more often their screeches are amazing and so loud HFHDJ) sometimes they'll come and take baths in the little fountain outside my house fbhdhfh. also that story is so sweet <3
AND A HAWFINCH!! (thats its english name but appelvink is an incredible name fhdhj). i haven't seen one of these with my own eyes either but they are amazing birds!!
In vitally important Neighborhood Animal Drama, a goddamn pileated woodpecker has taken up residence in the local park!!! Considering that they’re usually old-growth forest critters, and I’ve only ever seen them before up in the mountains, this is extremely exciting. Testament to the salutary non-management of the woods I guess.
For reference this dude is like the size of a crow; they are huge and fear nothing.
(Excuse the terrible photo quality, woodpeckers do not stay still.)
🖍️ I'm an idiot and can't find a pen in my emojis lmao. So here's my beautiful lil baby brain crayon
aCK sorry for the really late reply;; i was at school all day;; hope ya didn’t miss me
putting it in the tags again, for those who cant read my handwriting :7
