Donāt know if itās been asked or if Iām stupid but, did any doctor ever even had the slightest idea that it might be some form of rock? Or like, any of them had the slightest knowledge about rocks?
I mean, Iām not a doctor but if I had a child in front of me with a slightly weirdly shaped head that was not missing any of his developmental milestones, was not bothered in any way by his weird bone-like growth in his head, and had no trouble mentally, my first reaction would probably not beĀ ābut what if his entire head is a rockā?
As a healthcare professional, they would probably go for the most likely explanation first, and only research further if prompted by Stevenās caretakers. And those caretakers never prompted further because... Steven was not showing any symptoms of pain, etc.Ā
SO many things go undiagnosed in medical fields because, well, they donāt... need to be fully diagnosed? If it
1) Doesnāt cause the patient pain
2) Does not affect quality of living
3) Doesnāt create any complications on the mental side of things
and if the patient or guardians in question do not want to spend upwards of $10k USD on medical testing.... chances are, it would be left alone.
