Birdex is a Pokémon Go with birds
Android Police spotted a pretty cool app : Birdex. It’s a Pokémon Go with birds for iOS and Android. Every time you see a bird, you log it in the app where you can add photos and notes. It unlocks cards with facts and statistics. All of that allows you to level up, reach new ranks and unlock some customization options. You can even pimp your cards with effects and new backgrounds.
This seems like a pretty cool gamification of birdwatching, as there are many little tricks to keep you motivated (connection streaks, quests…). The game doesn’t have any microtransactions but is sadly only available in the UK with the US coming ‘later’, so no France on the roadmap. The artworks are AI generated, which sucks. Let’s hope that this limited release helps the devs find some budget and that they’ll do a re-release in the future, _ The Roottrees are Dead style.
