The hay meadow is abundant with wildflowers, grasses and clovers. And unfortunately also many thistles.
They are allowed to grow in the other fields but I don't want them in my hay. And being chemical free the only sure fire way to eradicate them is to uproot them.
Every, single one 😅
So I'm taking advantage of the soggy ground and and getting them up armed with a welding glove before they flower and seed everywhere.
I'll let them dry and then gather them for the compost so they don't waste.
I do believe organic farming outcomes are directly proportionate to the time, attention and effort you put in.
