EFFECTS OF ANOLYTE WATER ON THE CLASSICAL SWINE FEVER VIRUS: EFFECTS OF OXIDANTS AND pH | UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY
The researchers wanted to see how anolyte and its components interacted with the typical swine fever virus. The antiviral activity of an acidic electrochemically activated water solution anolyte is demonstrated. It was created in the electrolitic cell's anode chamber (electrolyzer). The electrolysis cell, which consists of a cathode and anode separated by a specific semipermeable membrane, is where the electrochemical treatment of water takes place (diaphragm). The diaphragm splits water into two fractions: alkaline (catholyte) and acidic (acid) (anolyte). Under laboratory circumstances, the classical swine fever (CSF) virus was treated with anolyte in cell culture and suspensions. Colony Forming Units (CFU) were determined using an assay. After inoculating them with cell cultures, the findings were obtained using the immunoperoxidase technique. Antigens from viruses were found and quantified. The growth of the cell culture PK-15 was found to be unaffected by anolyte. The anolyte in 1:1 dilution had the greatest impact on viral growth during infection of a cell monolayer with a cell culture virus. In other dilutions, the results were less.
