Super hungry but very quickly: Updated Carm's biography. Not gonna make you read that long ass shit again so here's a rundown:
An unofficial official priest of the Cath'olic church. What does that mean? It means he was given the tools/knowledge of any person in seminary school who aims to become a priest, but he was not allowed to take his final vows or become ordained because everybody in the seminary school was iMMEDIATELY aware of Azrael's presence as soon as Carm walked in. I mean. That many religious leaders in one place not sensing a demon/fallen angel? C'mon.
Whatever. The clerygmen can make this work. We can't really make you a priest because hosting a demon (even tho it isn't your fault) is the exact opposite of being celibate. Sorry dude. But you know what we can do? Utilize your endangered soul in other exorcisms! You're already possessed so you can't get double possessed, right? Ha ha! And maybe doing a bunch of exorcisms will eventually cast your demon out. Probably not but hey! What else can we do?
Called 'Father Caster' by other clergymen because he's casting spells (ok really chanting prayers) and he is technically a spiritual leader-- But instead of guiding people to Jesus he is guiding evil spirits to Hell. Amen.
Everything else the same. Azrael is still trying to make a fallen angel army to overthrow God.
Originally, Carmichael was made an official priest that also performed exorcisms. Didn't really jive with this because it meant I couldn't write wholesome romance if I wanted and like. Travelling to perform exorcisms while also running a church every day seemed impossibly hard and unrealistic.
I also made a few changes to his early childhood. He still is put in foster care and adopted, but instead of being diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, he's diagnosed with PTSD with mental health professionals thinking that his 'angel' (Azrael; They think he's an imaginary friend) is just a trauma response from neglect.
