Finished up another research logo commission for the Russell Lab! I have some space in my schedule so I’m opening up a few commission slots for these, reach out if you’d like a custom lab logo or critter illustration 🙂
i loveeee microbiology omg
just learned that the special second room of my lab is the only climate controlled room at mit that lets you directly control all three of temperature, humidity, and airflow rate. my pi says we can go from literally the minimal possible airflow that maintains the negative pressure to the same degree of filtration as a clean room in under 20 minutes. wild

Letterkenny goes to college
Yesterday evening my son told me that he'd noticed a small, inobtrusive sticker on his lab partner's laptop that said, "Pitter-patter." So of course we started trying to figure out the best way to introduce Letterkenny-style dialogue into a biology lab. After several iterations we hit on a call-and-response improv:
"ReCORDin' the DAta, Buddy!"
"Gotta have that DAta, Buddy!"
"Findin' the MEAN, Buddy!"
"Rippin' those p-values, Buddy!"
and at that point, Son's cadence and accent were so on-point that I collapsed, laughing too hard to continue. Buddy.

So I started working in a lab, I'm officially an oceanographer!! I remember I was suuuper excited about it, bcs it IS a big deal to get a job only 3 months after my graduation! I'm learning so much and I like the prospects! And to top it off, my work is only 10min away from the beach, I can go there e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y if I want to!
Along with that, hum, my current obsession is to go to cafés, I don't know if you noticed yet hahah My city was doing small city stuff, like u know, having a gastronomic festival, and ofc I was part of it! Like I said, I'm living my best life now!
