Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Some more art for Bionicle: Redone and Expanded! I drew Defilak, AKA Bingzak (a nickname she REALLY hates that she got from an unknown incident; She wonāt explain, but the other members of the Levatan Patrol refuse to let her live it down. Itās all in good nature, however.)
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The story is similar to the original G2 Bingzak; Her parents were captured by Skull Spiders and she was rescued by Nilkuu, but in this storyline she never got them back. Even though she technically had a house back in the branches of the Vuata Maca, Defilak herself lost her āhomeā and felt the only one she had left was with Nilkuu, whom she had bonded with. One way or the other, Nilkuu just sort of unofficially adopted Defilak, bringing her back to Levato where she quickly adapted to the harsh desert lifestyle.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Obviously, the implication here is that Iāve welded G1 Defilak and G2 Bingzak into one character, in part because I canāt really take the name Bingzak seriously unless as a nickname, which then begs the question of the ACTUAL nameā¦ You get the idea. āBingzakā being from the Region of Jungle only to be displaced into a different type of elemental biome is a bit of a meta nod to Le-Matoran Defilak living underwater.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Defilakās a bit of a quiet, moody kid, and definitely not without reasonā¦ Again, she lost her parents to the Skull Spiders and is still heavily traumatized by the experience. In an attempt to feel some sort of control and power over the Skull Spiders, Defilak has taken to looting their parts and wearing them as morbid ātrophiesā to symbolize her triumph over her terrorizers. She wears shoulder-pads made from repaired Skull Spider faces, and has a necklace of Skull Spider blades. She even has a sash made of hollowed-out Skull Spider limbs.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I based her appearance off of her G1 counterpart, but I also took a lot of inspiration from Enfys Nest from Solo: A Star Wars Story. I always thought that characterās aesthetic was really neat and fit in with the whole āwastelanderā look I was making for the Levatans.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Defilak and RaE Pohatu are definitely friends. The two probably enjoy spending a lot of time brooding together, and Pohatu certainly becomes almost like an older sibling figure to her, like the rest of the Levatan Patrol. Theyāre all concerned over Defilak, including Nilkuu, considering how youngĀ she isā¦ unfortunately, the Okotans canāt be choosers when it comes to soldiers to defend themselves from the Skull Spiders. And unlike most kids her age, Defilak seems pretty happy and intent on fighting the swarms.
