To enable this, we developed an enhanced SQLServer application that includes the spatial data normally held in the CAD or other BIM applications. This addresses the risk of data being held in two places and enables dynamic inter-operation with any other ODBC-compliant database.
Activeplan’s team has been developing what is now known as BIM since the early 1990’s and have used our expertise to develop a platform that manages buildings, spaces, systems and assets in a cloud-based SQL Server environment.
This enables inter-operation with other applications much simpler via webservices, particularly solutions like procurement, maintenance and lifecycle management that have little interest in geometric models.
However, we are Autodesk developers and have created integration with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Forge so the creation of spatial models transforms into the management of spaces and the systems and assets that support them.
