The Hatfield family
from left to right: Elizabeth Hatfield, Billy Hatfield, Ulysses T. Hatfield, Ruby Ann Hatfield (nee Broke), Hank Hatfield
The Hatfields are in The Sims 1 - thought it would be interesting if they were in The Sims 4 but they were introduced as Ruby Broke's new extended family. I also thought it would be more interesting to give Elizabeth and Hank red hair like Ruby rather than the brown hair they have in TS1.
The Hatfields are new to Brindleton Bay, having moved here in the summer of 1308 with their (at the time) three children. They're farmers by trade and Ruby felt if they had to work the fields and tend to flocks they did not own the best place to do that was somewhere prosperous - somewhere like Brindleton Bay. Sure enough the move has done them very well! Not only do they have a flock of their own, but they've welcomed three more children to their family. Things truly cannot be better!
(They had twins at some point during the very limited time I have the game unpaused so when that happens there's an automatic survival for mom and baby - or babies in this case.)
Ulysses T. Hatfield, 32
Ulysses is a simple man with not-so-simple tastes. His standards for living are high - something his easygoing wife is happy to oblige with a smile and a laugh. He's a confident man, the type who has always been assured of his own greatness, and the fact that he's more farmer than gentleman is something he's never really accepted.
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim Traits: Active, Self-Assured, High Maintenance
Ruby Ann Hatfield, 32
Ruby Ann is as down to earth as they come. She didn't exactly marry for love, but she knew as long as she indulged him that Ulysses would do what needed doing - and she was right! He has managed with a little encouragement and guidance to build up their coffers and standing in their new community, he even gave her six beautiful babies! Now if she could just convince him to let her get a little lapdog... or three...
Aspiration: Successful Lineage Traits: Dog Lover, Vegetarian, Bro
Billy Hatfield, 12
Blonde-haired, impish little Billy is known for his pranks as well as his shameless begging for treats. Locals joke that Billy Hatfield can smell a freshly-baked pie from the moment a woman treats towards the larder intending to make it.
Aspiration: Rambunctious Scamp Traits: Glutton
Hank Hatfield, 10
Always whistling a tune or singing to himself as he helps mind the sheep Hank is a well-liked little boy with a keen and clever mind. His greatest wish is for his family to be able to afford a lute that he can learn how to play.
Aspiration: Whiz Kid Traits: Music Lover
Elizabeth "Beth" Hatfield, 8
Bubbly and confident, little Beth Hatfield is a lot like her father in her belief that she's the very best and most beautiful girl in Brindleton Bay. Despite that she's fairly popular as she never speaks down to others and likes to help out others.
Aspiration: Social Butterfly Traits: Self-Assured
Lester Hatfield, 1
Lester has always been a very calm baby, a quiet relief in a house full of excitable, loud children. He's not so sure about having twin little sisters, but he does love crawling after Beth and Hank.
Traits: Calm
Lea Hatfield, Newborn
Kiana Hatfield, Newborn

Platea Ludius
This is our 1980 Naval School of Music performance of Kevin Stoke's well-written arrangement. We brought Billy Hatfield from the back in front of the band -- he went back to play the ending during Larry's guitar solo. Larry burns it up in this version, as was typically the case. The middle horn section was played by myself, Don Miller on saxophones, and John Rexroad on trombone (a baritone player), who used his valve attachment.
