May 6th, 2019. Harrisburg, PA. - This is my last day in my beautiful city. I will really miss Harrisburg but I’m excited for a new adventure. The last year of my life has been pretty rough but I happy to be leaving here on a positive note. Two months ago I hosted “Wanderlust”; my first solo photography exhibition in a gallery. It’s been a dream of mine since I became a photographer and I hope it will be the first of many. The love and support of all my friends and family means the world to me and I wonder sometimes if I’m making the right decision by leaving it all behind and moving across the planet. In my heart I know I am doing the right thing. As much as I love this city, I feel like I have outgrown it. There is so much to see in the world and I have only begun to scratch the surface.
I am going to Thailand to become an English teacher. Not that I have ever taught before. So this is more that just a backpacking trip over seas. I’ve done that before. This is something entirely different; living. I need a change in my life and I can’t think of a larger change than this.
I went around today and said goodbye to my hometown. Maybe not for good but at least for the foreseeable future. I’ve been waiting for three long years to adventure back out into the world, and my day has finally come.
