When I go for bike rides people always don't hear me when I ask them to let me pass on my bike (I live to near LA, the streets are always too busy to ride in) so I got a bike bell. But everyone ignores the bike bell??? Like, it's a pretty distinctive sound, even if you have headphones in you should be able to hear it?? I get not hearing a soft-spoken (out of breath) voice asking politely for you to move, as your brain automatically says 'talking to someone else' unless they're rude - and I never am - then it's like 'are they talking to ME??' But c'mon, it's a freaking loud bike bell, where the heck are people's ears doing 'cause they sure aren't helping them stay safe. I know I have good hearing, but that doesn't excuse people's lack of reaction to an unusual noise when they are walking 3 feet from metal death machines.
Today’s upsides:
Finally replaced my lock and got in my first bike commute of the year
While exhausted by the last couple of miles this afternoon, it wasn’t as bad as I expected
Plotted out two more prompt me responses while doing said biking
Downsides:
18 miles round trip is hard (I’ll adjust but that first week or so is hard)
I forgot to adjust my eating habits, and I’m now ravenous
I’m too tired to actually write out what I plotted
and too tired to cook
If I can work tomorrow it'll be amazing
With the amount of biking I've been doing after 10 years of not being able to ride.
nothing like a wet bike seat to ruin your entire day

Fell off my bike for the first time ever today while training for my charity marathon on saturday, and I sprained two of my fingers...riding 50k one-handed is going to be a fun time
Yay... Hit 10,000 miles on my bike today. And got a flat tire AND yet another broken rear axle. I need to be gentler with stuff I ride... The next thing I break might be painful to someone and not so easily repaired or replaced...
>.> <.< I am a good girl.
Proper bike seat height is important, kids
Ran 2 miles this morning, walked another 3 for coffee, and biked 8 to go see the baseball game. But my bike seat was too low and now my knees and hamstrings are killlllling me. Guess tomorrow is going to be a rest day.
