#Repost @glenefriedman (@get_repost) ・・・ the CD LONG BOX , after LP albums, and cassettes, came the CD and when they were first released for the first few years CDs came wrapped in these really weird thin long boxes that were meant to prevent people from stealing these new little boxes easily and to stack in record store bins side by side where vinyl Albums used to be... it was a crazy time for designers, we had to design and do mechanicals for the Vinyl LP, the cassette, the CD jewel box (that the compact disc actually was stored in) and the CD long box that held the CD. Early on environmentally concerned artists started questioning the long box and its horrible wasted materials. In a way they were cool so the art work still was only halved not quartered or smaller, it seems like they ruled the shelves for at least a few years, but in the end the environmentalists won 😃✌🏾️♻️👊🏾 ... here are a few unique long boxes that featured my work on them that I saved.
