Check out that wingspan! This is the most common bat species admitted to the Center, a Big Brown Bat, which as the name suggests, are big! But they aren’t the largest bat in Virginia—that honor goes to the Hoary Bat, which can get up to nearly six inches long! Big Brown Bats, by comparison, only reach a maximum weight of around 5 inches long.
