a part of me thinks that sirius kept things of lily and james after their death, like things that make them feel alive for him. i think he was greedy with those things and even though he loves harry with all his might he was afraid that if he gave those things and he does end up giving those things to harry like james fav. sweater or lily's fav. books with her notes in them. and he feels really guilty because they should have been more harry's then his own but he need them just as much as harry
and so when he does give harry the things, he wonders if harry will ever really forgive him for keeping them for so long. like i see him being scolded by remus for it too, but when sirius is able to connect to people he really connects and so as i said he need them to keep going on. like do you think harry would be mad? i mean it's a selfish thing, but at the same i don't know.
first of all, that wrecks me. it falls in line with the fact that lily and james were the only family sirius had as well and so it would make sense, coming from a family that valued tradition as the blacks did, that he would have an attachment to physical objects left behind.
i don’t think harry would be angry for a few reasons. while he may be a little upset that they were hidden away from him, he wouldn’t feel any clear ownership over them. in both cases where something of james’ was given to him, it was as a gift. in every instance where a memory is shared with him, it is just that. harry’s parents very rarely belong to just him, they are presented to him through the eyes of someone else. while he can get very protective of the stories he used to tell himself and the mythology he built up around them, when it comes down to the people who actually knew them ( especially ones as well as sirius did ) he tends to not infringe upon that. they are monumental to him in every sense of the word, and they will always be more tangible to those that can remember what how they smelled and what their laughs sounded like. he can’t blame sirius for loving them too much that he would want to hold on to the last remaining bits that kept them tangible for him. that’s not really in harry’s nature.

On Asgard, before Hela’s escape from exile & the fall of the Valkyrie – this Valkyrie was not only the leader of the Valkyrior but ALSO the one who over saw & took a major hand in caring for the horses & the stables - of both the Valkyrior & the court. There were other stable hands who helped her with the work but she would both start & end her day making sure horses were cared for. It was there in the manual labor, surrounded by her favorite beings that she found a small amount of solace … that was a grounding for her.
