#big year

ok it was a FEW weeks back but I took a small trip to a nature reserve down south recently. It was very nice to get out there and its slowly becoming one of my favorite bird spots. It even has a drivable trail. On this journey I found a whopping.... 1... New bird. Finally came across the white breasted nuthatch. They are super uncommon where I live, but very available at this refuge.

Helloooo happy people. Loon here. Sorry I know it's been a while. I had a birding trip maybe about 2 weeks ago, but a lot has been going on to the point where I just haven't been able to talk about it. THAT being said, I did have a very fruitful little adventure that I would like to share with you guys. First I went up north in search of some Loons, but I didn't not find any... I DID however find a Black-headed Grosbeak, a bullocks Oriole and some Oyster catchers. I then packed up where I headed to the mountain to spot a sooty grouse and a Mcgilvery Warbler. Finally I went down to a new wildlife refuge for me and it was amazing. The yellow headed black birds (or as I like to call them, broken fax machines) were abundant and I even spotted a purple martin, a bittern, and a wilson's snipe. All in all quite a round trip and despite it all still... no.. Loons... rip. I WILL GET PHOTOS OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL PLUMAGE EVENTUALLY!

Hello! Its been a while since I last updated. Turns out I still know how to type messages. Yess go me. Anyway, I went out to the coast today and got me a few Caspian turns. Ah to be a Caspian Turn dive bombing straight into a lake without regard safety. Not too much else today, but I am planning a trip to the mountains tomorrow and hoping to score a lot. My good friend vermilion, you should be afraid. I will update you guys after my adventures this weekend! Bye bye all!
