Joe Biden is set to announce something big, as sources have apparently told NBC News.
Everyone seems to think Biden is going to run. That would put another big player in a (comparatively) sparse Democratic field. Biden, however, is mostly the same, policy-wise, as Clinton; essentially the male version of the potential first female president. Having just lost his son some time back, he's also not running at full steam, and as romantic as it sounds, you can't win the presidency based on grief and a dying wish. His polling numbers at present don't add up to Clinton's, either, but he still has fans out there. Now, as a Sanders supporter, in a somewhat sadistic way I support the idea of Biden running for office. It would likely turn out terribly for Biden, which would be unfortunate for someone I also consider a good future candidate, but think back to Gore vs. Bush. Nader, as an independent left-winger, split the vote enough to cost Gore an election he could have otherwise won. Now, if Sanders, Clinton, and Biden are all leading in the Democratic Primary, Clinton and Biden would be considered more moderate, while Sanders is further left. Barring any scandals or extreme debate flubs, Clinton and Biden would have to wrestle for those moderate voters and split the vote between them, but Bernie could claim the whole of the left wing's left wing. So in my theory, a Biden run would give Sanders the nomination in the end. Of course, this would be bad for Biden and Clinton, both of whom I respect, and I think Sanders has a good shot of winning without Biden's unwitting help. But if Joe Biden runs for president, I think he'll end up bettering Sanders' chances. He's made a good VP so far, too...
Joe Biden suggests the "Biden Diet," where practitioners only subsist off of Vegemite and John Boehner's self-tanning cream.
The white house has denied all claims that Joe Biden is an impersonator who killed the real Joey B.
