I am that multidimensional, ever-altering, ever-fascinating, fluidly beautiful being, taken from the side of man, brought beside man. And when beside man, I find I am different in all the right ways. Highly emotional, but never too emotional, I carry within me the heart of God. I am fierce like the evening sun, a bursting array of ever-changing color to draw you into dusk. Yet I am gentle like the summer rain, lulling you into sweet silence. I have love that sinks into the depths of the ocean and power that soars to the mountains. In me you'll find freedom like fields of golden light and joy in hope everlasting. You can look into these freckled irises and be known; lay down your strongholds and not feel defeated. I am a woman, altogether whole, and I have courage like Queen Esther, devotion like Ruth, humility like Mary Magdalene, bravery like Rahab, faithfulness like Mary, and honesty like soul-bearing Hannah. I am all of these things and more because I find that words lack substance in describing my worth.

For I am created by my Father, whose utmost glory seeps through even the cracks of my brokenness. A promiscuous Gomer who is loved and loved again, a wrapped-up Martha invited into intimacy, an unfaithful Israel given mercy and restoration and possession of the land. I find that words lack substance in describing the worth of my Lord, my Abba, the One who sees me, whose Spirit lives within me, who says, "My daughter, this is who you are."
