A Relic from Solomon’s Temple? Rare 3,000-Year-Old Seal Discovered on Temple Mount
JERUSALEM – A 3,000-year-old seal discovered on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount likely dates back to the times of David and Solomon and confirms the credibility of the Bible’s historical record.
Since 2004, the Temple Mount Sifting Project has combed through tons of soil that was illegally removed from the Temple Mount by an Islamic group in 1999. The Sifting Project has recruited over 170,000…

The Yacht Club
"Ah, if I had a million dollars, I'd buy...well, first, I'd buy a yacht," she said gaily and with a chipper laughter. I arose from my seat at the bar and my wizened face half hidden from the fire's light, I recounted a story of my first experience with a Yacht; it went like this:
"Ah yes, the dreaded Yacht! Let me tell you, sister, they stalk the Himalayan peaks and devour any flesh they happen across-- man or beast; living or dead; fetid or frozen, or yes and especially, fresh." With that I laughed myself, but nothing gaily. It was a wistful laughter and one pregnant with experience and adventure. I could see she wanted to know more, so I didn't bother to ask permission to go on:
"I once confronted a Yacht when attempting to retrieve the true sandals of Jesus Christ and slew the ice-blue giant with another biblical artifact: David's sling-- using a native piece of stone, naturally." I mimicked the motion of the killer shot and then the collapse of the monster; finished with my little street act, I went on: "I was so close to the holy sandals; I was right there in that abominable clearing and among the bones of my dead brother-adventurers, my ruddy hands and frost-bitten fingers hovering above humble pair of footwear, but the Worm Wizard made me choose: reach for the sandals and attain not only my goal, but everlasting life and wisdom or reach for the Sherpa who had guided my way and who now hung perilously from slippery rocks, dangling over a black abyss. It was difficult for me to choose, as you might imagine, but I grabbed the Sherpa and pulled him up from what would have been a most deadly plummet. Of course, by then, the Worm Wizard had made off with Christ's sandals and I was left to wander with my Sherpa down the treacherous slopes barefoot, as I had removed my boots to wear the sandals previously." I paused, because the pause was necessary. The story was not finished, but she had to feel that it was finished. So, as she drew away and began to turn to her companions, I started back up:
"When I returned to base camp, I looked out over the valley silently and contemplated what I had lost. But the Sherpa thanked me in the indigenous tongue of the region and then shockingly in my own language, he finished with, "my son." And when I looked back, the Sherpa was gone and on my feet, the very sandals I had endeavored to retrieve."
And with that I walked back to the bar stool and took my seat while she sat there silently and glared- mesmerized- into the fire.
DEAD SEA SCROLL OBJECTS ON DISPLAY
A three-ton stone from Jerusalem's Western Wall, hundreds of biblical era artifacts, and a collection of 20 Dead Sea Scrolls will make their debut tomorrow in New York's Discovery Times Square Exposition.
The largest collection of biblical artifacts ever displayed outside Israel, the exhibition "Dead Sea Scrolls: Life and Faith in Biblical Times," aims to take visitors on a "fascinating archaeological journey through the Holy Land."
The show's centerpiece is 20 Dead Sea Scrolls, containing sections from the biblical books of Genesis, Psalms, Exodus, Isaiah, and others. The scrolls include four pieces which have never been available for public viewing.
Considered one of the greatest archeological discoveries of the 20th century, the parchment and papyrus scrolls were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in 11 caves around the ruins of the ancient settlement of Qumran on the Dead Sea. Read more.
