Three-quarters of the year is gone already. Days are getting shorter and shorter. Nights are getting cooler and cooler. September is the month when we say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn, and I can’t help but welcome the change. I love the colors of fall. I also love that I can open the window in the exercise room and let in that crisp morning air while I’m on the treadmill. Gets me moving!…

The love of money is the root of all evil not the money itself.

Do not fall for all the gimmicks and pay day loans, they will just throw you further into debt. Instead do your research and invest some money into your future. Any excess (of your wealth) made can traded to others who are less fortunate.

I feel compelled to post something but I'm not sure what...it's not like very many people will read it probably anyways. Yet I still feel compelled to write one of the things that's on my mind. 

Since I went to college I have worked around people. In school, I worked in the dining hall where I interacted with people every time I was working. From there I moved into ministry where I had even more interactions with people. I quickly found that I wasn't very good at interacting with people. I have said somethings when I was communicating with people that didn't come out the way that I meant them. Now you are probably thinking this is about making sure you say the right things but no that ain't it...here recently I realized that the largest problem isn't when you make mistakes when you are communicating, it is when there is a failure in communication. 

I have run into some people in my time through college and now into ministry who claim that not communicating makes things better. I don't where they get this from but not communicating has never helped me. I almost got fired once over not communicating. I have lost friends because of not communicating. In fact, I can't think of more than a handful of times where not communicating would have been more beneficial than communicating. 

That said, I don't think it is a good idea to say everything that comes to mind. (That usually backfires BIG TIME!) There are so many times where I wish I would have said something and didn't, and while there are times where I have said something I shouldn't...I regret what I didn't say a lot more than what I did. 

Communication is our main means of connecting with people. Whether its verbal or written, when we communicate we are sharing ourselves with someone else. Sometimes there isn't much to it, other times it is nearly all of who we are, but when we don't share at all we find ourselves strangely alone even when we are with a crowd of people. They might even be labeled friends but when there isn't true open communication between you and them, you will feel alone at times, this I can promise. 

I know this to be true because its the same with our relationship with God. We can not truly feel connected with God unless we communicate with him and that doesn't mean reciting a list of wants every night while you are falling asleep. True communication with God is found in prayer, worship, tithing (yes giving money is communicating with God), reading the Bible, listening to the spirit. If we don't do all of these then how can we truly claim to be connected with Him. We aren't communicating so what do we really know.
