JOSEPHINE 𓆝 。˚
synopsis. raised by an angry father & hotheaded brother, jo had been hardened to stone long before being drafted into the war that is the foster care system. violence is in her blood, her genetics. it pulses through her veins like thick ichor—golden blood of gods, of royalty. her brother, their father, his father, his fathers father. its part of the maybank family legacy, their own sense of royalty. your ancestors left behind fairytales & ancient recipes; jo's passed down red hot anger & purpling violence. so it shouldn't have been much of a surprise when she finally snapped. they should have seen it coming. the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so they say. josephine's apple does not appear to ever be able to successfully escape her tree, as she is being sent back to the very place said violence stemmed—as if that godforsaken island isn't what got jo into this whole mess to begin with, as if the person they were sending her to live with wasn't the one that seemed to so desperately want her gone. as if he hadn't already abandoned her once—who's to say he wouldn't a second time?
