To The Greatest Influence Of Our Time by. T-bird Shirai Wilson
Thank God for this amazing leader we have had here in Aurora. His influence goes beyond the edge of this state, past mountains, and oceans. He has been an influence in our Chuukese community stretching from the mainland to Chuuk. So as I said I'm here to say our kapongs and farewell to you Grandpa.
We were driving down from Spokane when I got the call to have this opportunity, didn't know what to say. I tried to put paper to pen last night but I couldn't write anything because I don't want to say goodbye. So I stand here with a broken heart that mourns for our loss. But learning from Grandpa I learned that we should engrave God's word into our hearts. So that when our hearts break, God's word will heal it.
That was one of the many things we learned from him. We also learned to be humble, stand firm in our faith, and trust God in all things. He was a star, not a celeb but shine bright at night. A star does not shine bright in the day time but at night it does. Day time represents the good times and in these good times Grandpa humbled himself and gave God the glory. Night time represents the dark times or the hard time and in these times he stood strong for the Lord, kept his faith and kept shining for God.
But most of all Grandpa taught us how to love equally and unconditionally to love through the good times and bad times, to love everyone whether they were friend or foe. To love your neighbor. So this is our farewell to you Grandpa Danis. That throughout our young lives you have taught so much. Taught us to trust God, stand firm in faith, be humble, and to love our neighbors. Throughout your amazing life you have been our teacher, friend, and father. But most of all you were what we all aspire to be as christians, and that is that you were a living image of Christ. Thank you for everything Grandpa, we love you.
