I have the skyla IUD. It’s a three year hormonal one. I am more emotional right before my period but I have not had any weight gain or spotting. Well spotting I did the first couple of months but I’m on month 4 and no longer have spotting. I do get a few pimples the week before my period but it’s actually better than it was on my other birth control.

I think everyone will react differently so it’s just something to consider. If you’re on a birth control form and like it, I wouldn’t suggest switching. If you are on birth control and hate it, I would talk to your doctor. If you aren’t on any form of birth control, I would very much so talk to your doctor. Also consider the pros and cons of an IUD versus other birth control forms.
