The woman knocked at the strangers door. It just happened to be the first house she seen, though looking past it their was plenty of other houses and some sort of weird castle in the distance? Maybe this was some sort of reenactment town or something either way it looked very different and was warmer than home. 

Lauras eyes widened when the door opened, not only was it a younger girl but she was super pale? Usually kids didn’t like her so that already put the wolf on edge somewhat.

“Uh.. Hello.” 

There was something she had become sensitive too since she had changed, like she could smell magic in the air. It was something she often avoided but now she would find her fully changed form drawing closer and closer to a smaller town, it was more of an annoyance then anything. She didn’t want to hurt anyone and often she managed to rein the beast back from people.

Her motorcycle came to a loud stop, it was an older model, she didn’t really have control over it and it wasn’t as if she wanted to be stealthy in the first place anyway. Thankfully her nose took her some ways from the town, but it was still some sort of house, which meant something live here.

“…Which part of it?” 

It had been 5 years, it was a little hard to remember what it was like when she hadn’t been one. Sometimes she was herself and in control, sometimes it itched and crawled and stayed ever present to reminding her, and sometimes it felt like she wasn’t even there at all. 

“I mean… Yeah no, it’s different and strange. It doesn’t derail your life, but theirs a lot I feel I miss out on, even if their is some cool stuff that comes with it.”

“Harvest moon is next month huh?” She was scrolling aimlessly on her phone til the idea came up to look into the next full moon, not that she was unaware of its date, just bored enough to search it up. 

The autumn was always a pretty decent time of year, the trees that do change where pretty, and it meant cold weather and thicker coats as the days dipped into winter fast, new flavors and fun holidays. The aesthetic of it all was so appealing, but it made harsher weather, dangerous conditions, and longer nights. She missed the simplicity of enjoying the darkness around 3pm and making a large fire for the night, even pulling out an air mattress and sleeping in the living room under thick blankets. Not worrying about a car stall leaving her truck abandoned in the woods for a winter night, or how much she’d miss with the threat of changing, winter and the growing nights made it hard for her to make plans. On worst winters she’d change for days on end and miss chunks, it always seemed the winters got worst with all this climate change too.

The woman took a sip of her mixed drink before shivering at the memory.

“I tried out Silver, pert near changes me if I stick too close to it, feels like my skins all crawling.” The feeling is not a good memory as obvious as it is on the tipsy woman’s face. 

“Tried out fire too, I mean, it doesn't feel any different then normal, but who else wouldn’t be hurt by that. And that wolfsbane stuff grows more further west and east so I figured it wont be a problem and never really tried it.” 

Finishing off her small cup in one final big swig she continued.

“I love working with my hands, so I usually end up wood working when I have the free time.” That included making some sort of functional art, to furniture.
