she calls herself satan  &  sometimes she really is because she wrecks me  &  others with painful headcanons,  angsty plots,  etc.  in reality,  she’s a wonderful friend,  always there for you.  i’ve been blessed with her friendship  &  i’m so lucky to have her in my life,  even if only through a computer screen  --  it’s already enough to me tbh.  she’s also fucking hilarious.

she’s a superb writer.  she puts so much thought in her characters  &  her ocs are so well-developed  &  human,  with virtues  &  flaws,  always so realistic  (emilie has a special place in my heart  &  in the hearts of many of my muses!).  seriously,  her writing skills?  if there’s a better mark than a with an infinite amount of plus,  that’s the mark i’d give her.  moreover,  she always has the best plot ideas  &,  if it weren’t for her,  we wouldn’t have such amazing timelines.  like seriously,  our saf gv has  years  of plots for our characters.

she’s the glue of our starkid fam.  really.  even if we might be apart for a while,  we always get back together  &  (i think)  it’s because she keeps us together,  &  i’m glad she does.

voldemort began to really rise to power when the marauders just started at hogwarts, and the order of the phoenix was founded very shortly afterward. the first war is continually stated to have been significantly more chaotic than the second, so you know how during HBP albus is barely at hogwarts? that’s how he was during the marauders’ entire education. hogwarts was primarily left in the capable hands of mcgonagall while albus acted as a general in the war; he would be there at the beginning of the year and the end of it, and a few times in-between if something was very serious ( such as the Snape Incident ) but primarily the headmaster wasn’t around much during those years.

and as a result, no, albus had very little idea of what the marauders were up to. after the snape incident he may have begun to suspect something, but by and large didn’t worry about it ( priorities and all of that ). if the war hadn’t been going on at the time, chances are he would have begun to suspect something, perhaps even putting things together, but as it stands, no, he had no idea what those four boys were up to.

If you are reading this letter – I might as well cut to thechase – some horrible fate has befallen me. The unthinkable, yes, I know, thatsomeone should take down Sirius Black but, alas!, it has happened.

There are so many things I never said to you, that I shouldhave – that I had every opportunity to say, but could not find in myself toexpress. We were all afraid, Pete… there’s no shame in that. We were allterrified, but I let my confidence override my fear, and I wasn’t there for youthe way a friend should be. I wasn’tcomforting, not even in school. I’ve never been the friend any of you deserve –except maybe James, but that’sbecause we get one another.

The sensitive sensibilities of you and Remus have alwaysflown right over my head. It’s not that I don’t care, or that I didn’t, as it were… I just don’t know how to be a consoling and empathetic person.

My jokes at your expense were never meant to hurt you. I’vealways, always considered you an equal. We would not be who we are if it weren’tfor you. Never downplay your worth to this group of comrades we have become.

In my absence, someone will need to take up the place asbest looking and most charming – I’m laying this burden at your door, Pete.Fake it ‘til you make it, so they say.

You know I love you, right? I’m sure I didn’t say it enough,I never said it enough to anyone… but I do. Merlin, I love ya, you barmy git…you were always so easily able to make me laugh and… this war is so hard. It’s so hard.

I hope that I was a good friend to you. Now, in thesedarkest of times, I second-guess that. But I always meant my best.

I need you to take care of the others, take care of Remus, James has enough on his plate.Someone’s gotta look out for Moony without me around.

Usually, it was Peter having nightmares. Peter with the fitful, interrupted sleep. With nightmares of horrors he won't voice. And it's Sirius job to soothe him. That's how it usually went. How many nights did Sirius' crawl into the guest bed to soothe him back to sleep—rubbing his back, telling painfully unfunny jokes in a hushed voice—before they stopped the pretense of separate bedrooms altogether?

It was easier to reach for him in the middle of the night, drowsy and warm from sleep, and pull Peter into his arms. Or watch the slow rise and fall of his chest, those rare nights he didn't wake up until morning, and Sirius just wanted to make sure that he's truly there.

It wasn't that Sirius didn't have nightmares of his own, but the circumstances that make it easier to hide.

Except for tonight.

By the time he stumbles across Peter in the kitchen, he's half-dressed: sockless feet in unlaced trainers, wand shoved into his jeans' pocket, and the same white t-shirt he fell asleep in. His plans are obvious—and so, too, is his immediate relief. Wordlessly, he crushes Peter in a fierce embrace, the staccato rhythm of his panicked heart pressed against the other man's chest.
