Summer Days
When you left you left a hole in me,
So wide you could see straight through me,
I felt like never before,
But I still got myself up off the floor.
I remember summer days,
When I was without you.
I can survive every day,
And not think about you.
I can go, places we’ve been,
And just forget you.
I can remember your beauty I’ve seen,
And not regret you.
When I wake up I hug my pillow,
And when I cry my tears come out slow,
Sometimes I feel like it’s not worth leaving bed,
But I carry on with what’s in my head.
I remember summer days,
When I was without you.
I can survive every day,
And not think about you.
I can go, places we’ve been,
And just forget you.
I can remember your beauty I’ve seen,
And not regret you.
When you called I was surprised to see,
That there was no sadness inside of me,
You told me about you love, your work, your life,
And that’s when I realised you just cause me strife.
I remember summer days,
When I was without you.
I can survive every day,
And not think about you.
I can go, places we’ve been,
And just forget you.
I can remember your beauty I’ve seen,
And not regret you.
