Kabby Wedding HCs Part 2!!!
Kevin BEGS to see Abby’s dress the day she buys it but she’s very strict on him not seeing it till she’s down the aisle. (“WE DON’T EVEN CARE ABOUT TRADITION!!!” “KEEP IT UP AND IM WEARING A POTATO SACK” “YOU WOULDN’T” “YEAH YOU’RE RIGHT”)
Of course they bicker. It’s still them. Over cake flavors, food served, time of day for the ceremony, which venue is best, honeymoon destination, honeymoon suite, etc
While Beth and Harold are the only two friends in the wedding, Beth and Mrs.Wilde do plan Abby a bridal shower and it’s very cute. Beth secretly is relived because she loves Abby but there’s finally an event where she doesn’t have to deal with her bridezilla ways.
That’s another thing- Abby is SERIOUS about her day being perfect. Every little detail must be to her liking. Beth is venting to Kevin and Harold like “I love her but MAN I can’t catch a break”
Beth’s mom def has all the back handed comments ready (it’s heavily implied in Party Gong she’s not a Kevin fan) “I mean, as long as my Abby is happy!” “I know you say he’s grown up buuuut-“ “Them staying together past high school was a surprise in itself!” Beth just rolls her eyes and defends Kevin each chance she gets (“MOM THEY LOVE EACH OTHER STOP”)
Despite being the youngest, Kevin is the first of his brothers to get married.
Kevin’s dad (Chuck) begs Kevin to let him wear a wig and makeup, Abby says it’s cool with a giggle Kevin gives him a hard no.
Kevin and Abby agree that the wedding should have a two drink limit. Naturally, some of his brothers “can’t come” now, much to the delight of Kevin
His mom is insistent on her entire family being there but Kevin lays it down. He says if any of his brothers do something as simple as breathing in a way Abby doesn’t like, not only will they be removed from his wedding, but his life. He says this is the one thing no one is ruining because fucking with him? Not unusual. But Abby?!? Whole other story, he says she is his priority now and anyone who wants to know him will respect her.
A few of Kevin’s brothers are in jail by the time it rolls by so thankfully he somewhat got his wish.
Kevin is a planner, he’s got ideas. He’s been saving for this as long as the ring; he gives Beth a ton of money and tells her to go buy a double of Abby’s dress. He tells her he warned his family of consequences, but just in case one of his looser brothers mess things up, Abby has a back up. Beth cries and says Abby is the luckiest person alive.
Harold’s cousin’s daughter is the flower girl, Abby and Beth absolutely adore her.
Kevin gets HORRIBLE jitters the night before and morning of. The start of the rehearsal dinner is fine, but near the end of the party Abby notices he’s quiet, drinking more water than usual, and seems kinda shaken. She whispers if he’s alright and he lies to not worry her.
Morning if he’s having a full blown anxiety attack. Pacing around the suite, thinking of all the worst possible scenarios that are frankly, out of reach. “WHAT IF THE WEIRDNESS MAKES ALL WEDDINGS TURN INTO DIVORCE CEREMONIES?!?” “WHAT IF BETHS MOM CONVINCES ABBY TO CALL IT OFF?!?” “WHAT IF PETE KLESKO INTERRUPTS THE CEREMONY AND THEY RUN OFF TO OUR HONEYMOON?!?”
Harold lightly slaps Kevin in the face, apologizes six million times even though Kevin is now sorta laughing from it, and looks him in the eye like: “Dude. You can’t have a divorce ceremony if you aren’t married, Beth’s mom’s opinion does not matter, Mrs.Wilde adores you, and Pete Klesko probably doesn’t even remember Abby. Or any of us for that matter, other than Beth, and that’s only because of his Aunt Beth!”
Harold reassures Kevin that Abby chose him and nothing could ever spoil it. Their wedding will be perfect, and if not? You don’t need your wedding day to be the best day of your marriage, because it’s the start of your marriage, and no one wants the start to be the peak.
The Weirdness however, does suddenly make all Priest’s locked in the biggest church in town together, causing them to all sing together at once and unable to speak. Mrs Wilde was going to have her priest from Church officiate (Abby was brought up Catholic but she’s not super religious/goes to church really once she’s in high school, however she does believe in God and was willing to do it for her mom. Kevin is atheist but he was cool about it) Just as Abby is freaking out, Beth has a plan.
She goes to Mr.Lipschitz’s house and gets on her knees for him to officiate. He’s stunned Kevin Harnisch is getting married, to Abby Wilde of all people, but Beth basically forces him. (“Are you doing anything today?!? Didn’t think so!”)
The moment Abby walks down the aisle, Kevin’s full on sobbing. Not even slight shoulder movement, full on sobs. Harold rubs his shoulders and gives him tissues, and Abby wants to cry too but she’s holding it in (despite wearing waterproof makeup, girl thought ahead!)
When she gets up there, she tells Kevin they can’t have a lip kiss yet but she can kiss his tears off. He tells her she’s the most beautifully, stunningly, breath taking, most gorgeous sight he’s ever faced. He can’t believe this is his life.
They have personal vows, that are of course silly and snarky, but full of love, admiration, and both end in tears and smiles.
The first dance was absolutely dorky, cringy, and not well choreographed but the the most adorable way possible. It was quite literally a slow dance and Abby can’t even do that well (because we know she can’t dance via Signs) and she might’ve stepped on Kevin’s feet several times (he smiled and swore it was fine lmao), Kevin dipped her too low, and when he tried to twirl her she might’ve spun into him and they both fell on the ground. Everyone was laughing, awwing, and crying tears of joy.
Kevin keeps referring to Abby as his wife all night. “This my wife” “My wife needs some water” “My wife looks HOTTTTT tonight!” Abby thinks it’s adorable. He also keeps calling her Mrs.Harnisch.
Harold gives the most emotional best man speech. He starts crying and Kevin shouts “DORK” but id secretly holding his own tears back.
Beth’s MOH speech is professional, well rehearsed, but full of heart. She and Abby are both sobbing in the end.
Once the two leave, the party goes on till 2:00am in the morning, mainly due to Kevin’s side. (His brothers that were there surprisingly behaved all day, but once Kevin left they started drinking more with bottles they hid in the car, called girls over, etc so still a mess but Kevin’s wrath kept them in line for the actual wedding)
When the two are in their hotel that night after getting freaky, they just lay in each other’s arms. Abby’s like “You’re mine forever now, Harnisch” and Kevin says “you bet, Harnisch” (bc they’re married now 🥹)
