Abdul Ballout, a 21-year-old German national with Lebanese roots who was well known to police, is believed to have rammed a van into a crowd in Tiergarten park late on Saturday, next to the finale of annual LGBTQ+ celebrations that drew hundreds of thousands of people.

After the vehicle, which had been rented in Ballout’s name, crashed into a tree, he allegedly attacked people with a large knife. A 65-year-old Polish woman died and 29 others were injured." - The Guardian

I've seen so many people here on tumblr trying to silence and whitewash this horrible tragedy as simple "out of nowhere queerphobia" when this is an Islamist terrorist attack. This is a result of Islamism which calls for killing queer people. This is not a single accident. It happens all the time in Muslim countries and now it will start to happen in western countries too if they are allowed to continue. The biggest threat to LGBT and women's rights is Islamism and the sharia law they want to impose. We need to wake up to the fact Islamism is the new far right here. Our local western neo-Nazis are nowhere near as organised and aggressive as these guys. Calling this crime as it is: and islamist terrorist attack is not "islamophobia". The only sane reaction to terror like this is resistance to the ideology that causes it.
