Last night was the first time I was worried about my physical safety as a journalist. I followed the protesters onto the highway as they played a game of cat and mouse with the police all the way down to Emeryville. We got caught and were kettled in. We were held there for hours.Ā
When people approached the police lines they were met with yells to "back the fuck up" and a baton held high.Ā
Stay back. You get closer you get hit. You make me nervous you get hit.
I was fortunate to avoid arrest last night. 150 others weren't so lucky.Ā
