“Ben,” he began, leaning forward against the table to better grab his cousin’s attention. “Ben. Ben. Ben. Ben!” he repeated. Ben might not have been ignoring him, he might just have been too preoccupied with something in his side of the kitchen to immediately give him a response, but he’d always been impatient, and he’d found that annoying people into noticing him was an effective method. Once he was sure he had the other’s attention, he continued, “When are you going back to New York?” He was, of course, asking something else entirely, that was, he was wondering if he could give him a lift to the city, but he never could figure out how to properly ask for things. @benxscott
