a thought
so i’ve been catching up on Kipo and had a thought.
as i was watching i rolled my eyes at the Benson and Troy bits. it falls into so many “love at first sight” tropes i dislike. so i didn’t ship it and wasn’t interested in it.
i was thinking about those tropes tho and it kinda struck me that most, if not all, that i’ve seen have been straight. all those kids movies and shows, or cheesy rom-coms, they’ve all been straight
that’s were Benson and troy deviate. and it stuck with me that gay kids will see that and see that they’re normal. that they’re just like everyone else. and that being gay is normal. and that just made me p happy honestly. i’m still not big on the ship so far but i’m also glad for it being in the show y’know? i’m glad for what it means for lgbt kids growing up.
the ONLY developing (romantic) relationship in kipo has been a mlm relationship and honestly? a power move
