FvF Workplace: Designer Benno Simma from Bolzano

We met up with Benno Simma at his Bolzano workplace in the South Tyrolean mountains as part of a collaboration with Südtirol for adidas Journeys. The location of his light-filled atelier and the unbelievable view are not a coincidence, as Benno acquired it being stubborn and consistent.

Having studied and worked in architecture, Benno found peace in creative endeavours, including work as director of a design school in Rome and establishing the Faculty of Design in Bolzano. His projects propel from a drive to try to change things within society and make an impact in some way.

Conseguiti gli studi di architettura allo IUAV di Venezia lavora come docente e designer a Milano e a Trier, dove insegna architettura all‘istituto superiore. A Bolzano diventa direttore dell‘Accademia di Design e a Roma dirige l‘Istituto di Design IED. Attualmente insegna all‘Istitut für Gestaltung alla facoltà di architettura a Innsbruck. In parallelo lavora come architetto e designer a Roma, Milano, Monaco, Bolzano e Innsbruck.
