One thing I really like about Ben's death scene is that he actually says "please" and "thank you" to Nat.
No last minute survival instinct or desperation. Just a man who was already gone being put out of its mysery.
As much guilt as Nat must feel about the whole thing, at least she can know that she truly did the right thing for him at least.
Now I hate to be the big theory guy but the parallel between tonight’s episode and Natalie’s death episode makes so much more sense now. And brings me to believe when Shauna said there was no wilderness and it truly was just THEM.
And to add Natalie growing up to become an addict (despite the other hardships she’s been thru) make 100x more sense now. She had to let go of really the only father type figure she ever had:(

I have a, possibly insane, theory that Hannah could be the Antler Queen. The girls have been missing an adult role model in their life for a long time, even Ben became redundant pretty quickly as the only power he had over them was his knowledge, and, when he handed to gun to Nat and the knife to Shauna, he lost the only power he had. We see him in the during Shauna's birth and he's completely powerless; he is less than all the girls, he has no authority over them at all. Any respect he had, he loses when he is incapable of helping, and then he becomes alienated when he doesn't participate in any of winters cannibalism.
He loses his power until they have him captive, until he has gone from being their coach to being their prisoner.
Now, Hannah is an adult - and adults inherently have power over younger people - and she immediately immediately kills Kodi, falling in line with the yellowjackets ideals. So, what if the combination of falling into their belief, into their insanity, and being an adult leads them to completely bowing down to her to the point where she becomes the Antler Queen.
Because, at the end of th day, they are still teenagers, and teenagers know that adults are authority figures and, if they have an authority figure complicit in what they're doing, they're gonna fall in line so fucking quickly.
