I have the deepest, most logical conversations at 3 in the morning
me: How is it genetically possible for only 1 of Aang and Katara's 3 kids to be a bender?
friend: I HAVE NO IDEA!
me: I mean. I thought that maybe bending was a recessive trait, but both Katara AND Aang are benders. It doesn't make sense.
friend: And all of Tenzin's kids are benders, but Penma is a nonbender. Katara even said that the 4th kid will be a bender.
me: *contemplates*
me: Unless perhaps each bending has it's own genetic mutation, and they aren't linked.
me: Which would mean that Katara is a carrier for airbending.
me: This would mean that Tenzin is a carrier for waterbending. Maybe the new baby will be a waterbender, not an airbender?
friend: OH THAT'D BE SO CUTE, BECAUSE THEN KATARA WOULD TEACH THEM!!!
