The Luzerne County Community College Benco Dental Clinic at the College’s Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center in Nanticoke is open to the public. The clinic provides low-cost preventive dental hygiene services including teeth cleaning, x-rays, and fluoride treatments. Appointments are available on Mondays, from 4 to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.; and Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Appointments are four hours in length because dental hygiene students provide treatment which is evaluated by dental faculty. Local dentists on staff provide dental exams. The dental department students and faculty will be using CAPRS (powered air purifying respirators) while performing exams. Additional air purifiers also have been installed in the College’s clinic.
