🍎: “I’ve lusted after my best friend before.”

🍎: “I’ve murdered without cause before.”

🍎: “I stole a cookie from the cookie jar. When I was 5.”

Aela let out a quiet laugh, her eyebrows raising. “You want to hit me? I haven’t done anything to you, Belyndrae.” She eyed the other woman over, a hand settling on her hip. “But I’m glad you think my face is pretty. I’d hate to retaliate and give you a black eye to mar -your- pretty face.”

She tilted her chin up a bit, defiant and waiting to hear Bell’s reply.

Aela smiled, a peculiar gleam in her eyes. “Well, there is a stalker that lurks about, always getting into things that he shouldn’t. Aiden deserves a punch to the face.”

Gallaria squirmed, clearly not comfortable with the question. But she did not back down from a challenge. “Good question, Belyndrae. I’ll try to do it justice.”

“In a perfect world, I would be having Arunthil’s children. He was my intended and we were going to be married but the Scourge took care of that dream. Nowadays, there isn’t really anyone I would want to have children with. The one man who came close...we came so close to having a baby. But again, it wasn’t meant to be.”

The paladin smiled humorlessly, “It’s a dream turned to dust.”

Aela tilted her head to the side a bit. She had run into Belyndrae while out walking and the conversation had turned quite quickly to the subject of food and in particular, Bel’s challenge to eat three meals a day. The young mage had offered a lesson or two in cooking.

“Why’s that...? I can show you how to make a couple of really easy things to cook. Almost as easy as those fruit salads.” She offered a smile.

Of course I'm alive. I'm too hardheaded to have it any other way.

The city is full, practically busting at the seams with people. Mostly idiots. But people nonetheless.

Worried about me? You worry too much, Bells. Didn't we have this talk before? How you fret overly much about other people and forget how to handle and take care of yourself? Or is that what you've been doing in your absence? Gods, don't tell me you took time off to help another. I'm not sure if I can take much more of your excessive selfless acts.

Despite that, it’s good to hear from you. Don't get yourself killed/hurt/upset/or anything before I see you. Else I'll have to cut my little "vacation" short and go back to work.

But until then, shadows hide, sun guide.
