Y/N couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face as she read the letter she had just received from her top-chosen school. She was over the moon excited that she had gotten accepted into one of the best schools in Japan. Y/N squealed in happiness, holding the paper letter to her chest and sighing dreamily. This is all she’s been dreaming about ever since she started looking at colleges back when she was in high school. The first person she thought to call was her best friend Shoko. 

Y/N tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Shoko to answer the call. Shoko finally answered on the third ring (How dare she?! This is important!). 

“Yes, my darling, what is it that you must call me so early in the morning?” Shoko sighed in disdain, but Y/N could hear the smile in her best friend’s voice. Y/N just giggled before she started to speak so quickly in excitement. 

“Sho! I’ve been accepted!” Y/n squealed out to her friend. Shoko sighed but smiled nonetheless. “Congrats, brat…what exactly did you get accepted for?” Shoko asked, laughing at the scandalized hiss Y/N let out at her question. 

“Ieiri Shoko! Be for real! Jujutsu University! I got accepted into Jujutsu University!” Y/N whined out to the woman. Shoko just chuckled before responding. 

“I know, I’m just messing, kid. I just wanted to hear you say it. It’s cute when you get excited like that. Honestly, I should open my letter too.” Shoko responded lazily. Y/N rolled her eyes at her best friend’s nonchalant attitude. “You’ve already gotten yours? And you haven’t checked? What are you, a psycho?” Y/N grumbled. Shoko just laughed. 

“Perhaps…now maybe I just wanted to wait to open them with you, but someone here is just too eager to wait not even a few hours.” Shoko teased. Y/N groaned at her words, rolling her eyes again. “Just read the letter, Sho; I’m shaking,” Y/N said dramatically.  Shoko snorted at Y/N’s words before sighing and slowly opening the letter. 

It was silent for a few moments, and Y/N was practically buzzing with anticipation. “Shoko…please!” Y/N groaned out in impatience. Shoko laughed once more before responding.

“You are so impatient; I was reading the letter, jeez, brat.” Shoko sighed before she continued her words. “I’ve been accepted into the medical program,” Shoko stated casually, but Y/N could hear the slight excitement in her best friend’s voice. At hearing the words Shoko just announced, Y/N squealed in excitement. She was thrilled that she would be attending her dream school with her favorite person in the world!

“Ah! Shoko! I’m so excited!” Y/N exclaimed happily. Shoko smiled and let out a surprisingly soft, “Me too, brat.” And with that, they said their goodbyes and hung up the phone. 

“I still can’t believe you convinced Dean Yaga to switch our dorm members around and let us room instead,” Y/N exclaimed appreciatively to Shoko, as they placed another box into their dorm apartment’s living room. Shoko just shrugged and sat on your new couch. 

“It wasn’t too difficult to do so. Maybe you’re just too nice. That’s why I’m here, brat. Can’t let anyone take advantage of you.” Shoko said teasingly before winking at Y/N. Y/N just rolled her eyes. 

“Anyways.” Y/N dismissed. Then spoke again. “We need to finish moving our stuff in; you just sitting there isn’t gonna do it, Sho…” She said again, pointedly. Shoko raised her eyebrow at her best friend’s words.

“I take back what I said; you are mean.” Shoko teased before getting up and following the other young woman to Y/N’s car, where the rest of their belongings were. They had already gotten the big stuff out of Shoko’s truck. As they were making their way back to their apartment with the last of their stuff, a tall man with long black hair approached them. 

“Hey! Do you need some help? That looks pretty heavy.” The man said, a polite smile on his face. You looked at him with a soft smile. Shoko just snorted. “I don’t need help from a man.” Shoko said before walking away towards the apartment. You groaned at your friend’s words. 

“Sorry about Sho; she’s uh she’s well she’s a character. I’m Y/N, I would love help if you don’t mind.” You said, giving a soft smile. The man just chuckled at the situation and nodded before grabbing the heavy box from you. 

“Suguru.” The man said, his voice deep. You looked at him, confused for a second before realizing he was telling you his name. You nodded and smiled. “My best friend Satoru and your friend would probably get along.” The man said. You just sighed and shook your head with a smile. 

Suguru followed you to your apartment; the whole time you two were talking about the school and your majors. You had found out he was a Classic Literature major, and that you two shared some of the same classes, seeing as you were an English and Literature major. He placed the box down in your living room, and you looked around to see that Sho was on the balcony smoking a cigarette. Typical Shoko, you thought. 

“Thanks for the help, Suguru! I really appreciate it.” You stated graciously. The man just smiled softly, nodding before speaking. “Not a problem at all, Y/N. I have to ask. Would you and your friend like to join Satoru and me for dinner tonight in the cafeteria? I hear the food is pretty good.” Suguru asked politely. You just smiled softly and agreed that you’d meet them at the cafeteria at 7 pm. You exchanged phone numbers, and he left. 

Shoko snuffed out her cigarette before opening the sliding door of the balcony and coming to sit on the couch. She looked at you with a smirk on her face. You sighed, knowing whatever was about to come out of her mouth was going to annoy you.

“Sho, don’t start…” You whined. She just raised her hands in mock surrender before replying. “Hey, I’m just surprised you managed to get that hot guy’s number the first few hours on campus…Plus he’s already inviting you out to dinner? I’m impressed, brat.” Shoko said, the smirk never leaving her face. 

“Shoko. He’s being friendly. And he invited us.” Y/N corrected. Shoko just snorted and shook her head. Y/N rolled her eyes, huffing before they both busied themselves with unpacking the boxes. 

It was around 6:40 pm when they had finished unpacking everything and had both showered and were ready to head out to the cafeteria to meet Suguru and Satoru. Suguru had texted Y/N asking her if they were still interested in having dinner together, to which she let them know they were about to head there in a few minutes. The women grabbed their keys and began to make their way to the cafeteria on campus. As they were walking, they chatted about the classes they had in the morning. 

“Hey, Y/N. You made it!” Y/N heard from behind her. She turned around and saw Suguru; this time, his long black hair was in a bun. Beside him was a guy with white hair and bright blue eyes partially hidden behind his thick-rimmed glasses. You assumed this was Satoru. You smiled at Suguru, waving slightly. You turned your attention to the white-haired man; he smiled shyly, and a deep pink blush appeared on his nose and ears. 

“H-hello, I’m Satoru…” The man said nervously, his voice quiet but deep. You smiled at him and introduced yourself, and gestured to Shoko and told them who she was too, because she was too busy smirking at Satoru, making his face redden even more. You glared at Shoko, trying to get her to knock it off. She just winked, and the four of you headed into the cafeteria to grab some food.

After grabbing your desired food, you all settled at a table outside, since it was nice out and still pretty bright too for it to be a little past 7. Suguru turned to you before asking what you thought of the university so far. 

“It’s nice from what I have so far seen of it. I’m really excited to explore more, though!” Y/N said excitedly. Suguru just smiled and nodded along. “So Satoru, what are you studying?” Shoko asked the man with glasses; the man froze before replying softly. 

“I’m a biology major…” Satoru said, his eyes lighting up slightly as he told what he was studying. He was so adorable, you thought to yourself. Shoko nodded; you could tell she was impressed by the look of slight shock on her face. The four of you continued to chat; Satoru finally began to break out of his shell the longer you all conversed. It was getting late by the time you all ended the night and began to part ways. 

“This was fun! We should do it again soon…” Satoru said quietly, his ears reddening at his words, almost as if he was internally cringing at his words. You smiled, nodding your head. Shoko surprisingly agreed, and Suguru smiled and nodded as well. You all said goodbye before you separated. 

As you and Shoko were walking back to your apartment, you two talked about the night and your thoughts about the two men. 

“They’re nice,” Shoko stated nonchalantly. You just sighed. Typical Shoko, you thought. “Yeah, I like them. They seem like good people.” You agreed. She just hummed as she swiped her keycard to let you into your shared apartment. She kissed your forehead, as a big sister would, and made her way to her room, telling you goodnight. You smiled and headed to your room to sleep. Tomorrow was a big day after all.
